The international candidates competing for the award are <strong>Rui Silva<\/strong>, from Euskalduna Studio* (Porto, Portugal); the representative from Benelux, <strong>Brandon de Bruin<\/strong>, from De Kromme Dissel* (Heelsum, Netherlands); <strong>Leonardo Viola<\/strong>, from A-Spurcacciuna (Savona, Italy); and <strong>Julio Pizarro<\/strong>, from the Pizarro Fine Dining restaurant (Gro\u00df-Gerau), as the German candidate. Representing Spain in the final will be: <strong>Crist\u00f3bal Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, from the Ambivium* restaurant (Pe\u00f1afiel, Valladolid); <strong>Lander Cornago<\/strong>, from the Arzak*** restaurant (San Sebasti\u00e1n); <strong>Pablo Zuazu<\/strong>, from the Via Veneto* restaurant (Barcelona), and <strong>Paula Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong>, from the V\u00edctor Guit\u00e9rrez* restaurant (Salamanca).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-41627 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/balfego.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/10\/8-finalistas-CB24-300x90.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"937\" height=\"281\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/balfego.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/10\/8-finalistas-CB24-300x90.png 300w, https:\/\/balfego.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/10\/8-finalistas-CB24-1536x463.png 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 937px) 100vw, 937px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This new edition of <strong>Chef Balfeg\u00f3<\/strong> continues to expand its international reach thanks to the relevance and influence that this event is gaining worldwide, and for the first time, the final is bringing together the same number of Spanish and international chefs. This edition will feature for the first time <strong>Benelux as a guest country<\/strong>, a territory comprising Belgium, the Netherlands (Netherlands) and Luxembourg, together with Italy, Germany and Portugal. These four chefs were selected in the semifinals held in their respective countries of origin by a jury made up of MICHELIN stars, while the four Spaniards were chosen by an internal jury after receiving more than one hundred nominations.<\/p>\n<p>The eight finalists will compete in <strong>the final, which will be held on 28 October<\/strong> in the kitchens of the <strong>Le Cordon Bleu<\/strong> international cooking school in Madrid. In the morning, the chefs will prepare their recipes before a jury chaired by <strong>Mart\u00edn Berasategui<\/strong> &#8211; eight MICHELIN Stars and gastronomic ambassador of Balfeg\u00f3 &#8211; and made up of renowned chefs, such as <strong>To\u00f1o P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, from Atrio***; <strong>Erwan Poudoulec<\/strong>, chef and technical director of the Le Cordon Bleu School of Haute Cuisine; <strong>Fina Puigdevall<\/strong>, from Les Cols** -Girona; <strong>Ricard Camarena<\/strong>, from Ricard Camarena**, and the food critics <strong>Jos\u00e9 Carlos Capel<\/strong>, from the magazine GastroAguid\u00edam and <strong>Javi Antoja<\/strong>, from Montagud Editores. The jury will choose the three winners of the 7th edition of the contest organized by <strong>Balfeg\u00f3<\/strong>, a company specializing in fishing, studying and marketing bluefin tuna, and the world&#8217;s largest exporter thanks to the quality and excellence of its product.<\/p>\n<p>The jury will rate the <strong>flavor, aroma, and texture of each dish<\/strong> (40 points), the <strong>presentation<\/strong> (30 points), the <strong>balance of the ingredients<\/strong> (15 points), and the <strong>preparation<\/strong> <strong>and correct handling<\/strong> <strong>of the product<\/strong> (15 points). The second-place chef will receive <strong>\u20ac3,000 in prize money<\/strong>, while the third-place chef will get <strong>\u20ac1,000<\/strong>, along with a <strong>set of Japanese knives and an audiovisual report<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The contest boosts the careers of young culinary talents and has served as a prelude to earning a MICHELIN star, as in the case of <strong>Alejandro Serrano<\/strong> (Alejandro Serrano*) and <strong>Rafel Muria<\/strong> (Quatre Molins*), chefs who received the star after winning the title of <strong>Chef Balfeg\u00f3<\/strong>.
