Its objective is to promote the professional careers of women and contribute to breaking the gender gap in the gastronomy sector
From Balfegó Grup we launch the call for the fourth BalfegóWTalent scholarship to study the Official Higher Degree Degree: Higher Technician in Kitchen Management. The objective of this scholarship is to promote the professional careers of women in the world of haute cuisine and restaurants to break the gender gap in this group, promote gender parity and create a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. BalfegóWTalent is part of the principles and equality plan of this company specialized in fishing, aquaculture and marketing of bluefin tuna.
According to Marta Rodríguez Morillo, director of Balfegó’s People Department, “the company wants to actively contribute to equality by providing training of excellence and high-level specialization in the culinary field to young female talents. We hope that our scholarship continues to make more women say yes to a professional career in the world of haute cuisine.” The fourth edition of the Balfegó scholarship will be developed, once again, in collaboration with the Mom Culinary Institute cooking school.
For Paula Álvarez, third Balfegó scholarship recipient, “this scholarship has given wings to my dream of setting up a restaurant in the countryside in the future where I can grow the products necessary for the dishes. I am very grateful to Balfegó for this opportunity. I believe that cooking is a very creative and loving art that allows you to give yourself to others. And I love the sustainable philosophy that MOM Culinary Institute has and the fact that I can work in their urban garden.”
According to Francina Adell, initial beneficiary of this WTalent aid, “there are few women in professional cooking and the scholarship offered by Balfegó is a way to encourage them to become great in the sector. For this reason – Adell points out – I encourage all those aspiring to enter the world of restoration to apply for the BalfegóWtalent scholarship.”
Aspiring chef Jessica Gibu, second BalfegóWTalent scholarship, states along the same lines, for whom “the scholarship has changed my life and opened new paths, it is being a great opportunity in my professional career. Since then I have worked and strive every day, with passion and heart, to learn and I aspire, whether I achieve it or not, to be the best chef. For this reason I will be eternally grateful to Balfegó.”
