Balfegó joins the Chefs for Children initiative
For yet another year, Chefs for Children brought together 29 Michelin-starred Spanish chefs in a gastronomic event that conveys the importance of eating healthy from childhood. In this edition, Balfegó joined their noble initiative.
The Los Monteros Hotel, in Marbella, was the setting chosen to hold this event, which includes a spectacular gala dinner and fun cooking workshops to teach 150 children that “Eating healthy is fun”.
In this edition, the event collaborated with the Juegaterapia Foundation, which helps children with cancer and has just presented a project to create an outdoor garden on the terrace of the Maternal and Children’s Hospital in Malaga.
Thanks to the support of sponsors, this project has been able to take shape once again. Balfegó Bluefin Tuna took part this year by contributing its product for tasting in the kitchen of Chef Ekaitz Apraiz Olaeta (Restaurant Tunateca Balfegó, Barcelona) and Chef Mario Cachinero (Restaurant Skina** – Marbella).
In the evening the Chefs for Children gala dinner was held, attended by 29 Michelin-starred Spanish chefs with more than 200 guests.
The exclusive sampling menu was prepared by Malaga chefs: Benito Gómez, from Bardal**; Mario Cachinero, from Skina**; José Carlos García, from José Carlos García Restaurante*; Mauricio Giovanini, from Messina*; Diego Gallegos, from Sollo*; and Fernando Villasclaras, from El Lago*; with Sebastián Conejo, from the Los Monteros Hotel.
ChefsForChildren is a solidarity project that conveys the importance of healthy eating from childhood.
