What is Chef Balfegó ?
Chef Balfegó is one of the most renowned culinary competitions in Europe and rewards the country’s best chefs’ work with the world’s best bluefin tuna.
In the past three editions, chefs from all over Spain competed to impress an all-star judging panel. Chair and twelve-Michelin starred chef Martin Berasategui has been joined throughout the years by the likes of Paolo Casagrande (of three-Michelin starred Lasarte), Mario Sandoval (of two-Michelin starred Restaurante Coque) and chef Nacho Manzano (of two-Michelin starred restaurant Casa Marcial).
Contestants have wowed us throughout the different editions with their first-rate knowledge of Balfegó bluefin tuna and their original, never-before-seen dishes.
The final is held in person and ends with a gala attended by internationally renowned chefs, food journalists and personalities from different professional fields.
